Welcome to rooksforjudge.com. This website is owned and operated by the Committee to Elect Timothy J. Rooks ("the Campaign"). By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Political Contributions and Legal Compliance
By making a contribution through this website, you affirm that:
You are a U.S. citizen or a lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
The contribution is made from your own personal funds and not from the general treasury of a corporation, labor organization, or national bank.
You are at least 18 years old.
The contribution is not made in the name of another person or entity.
North Carolina Law: You acknowledge that North Carolina law requires the Campaign to report the name, mailing address, job title/profession, and name of employer for individuals whose contributions aggregate in excess of $50 in an election.
2. Intellectual Property
All content on this site—including text, graphics, logos, photographs (including judicial portraits), and videos—is the property of the Committee to Elect Timothy J. Rooks or its content suppliers and is protected by United States copyright laws.
Permitted Use: You may share links to this website on social media for the purpose of supporting the campaign.
Prohibited Use: You may not use the "Rooks for Judge" logo or any campaign materials for commercial purposes or in any way that implies an official endorsement by the Court or the State of North Carolina without express written consent.
3. User Conduct and Communication
If you sign up for campaign updates or contact the campaign via the website:
You agree to provide accurate and current information.
You consent to receive communications from the Campaign via email or SMS (standard messaging rates may apply).
The Campaign reserves the right to moderate or remove any user-submitted content that is defamatory, offensive, or violates North Carolina Board of Elections regulations.
4. Judicial Ethics Disclaimer
Timothy Rooks is a candidate for (and/or sitting) Superior Court Judge. In accordance with the North Carolina Code of Judicial Conduct:
Communications on this website are intended for campaign purposes only.
This website cannot be used to contact Judge Rooks regarding any pending or impending legal matter in the court system.
The Campaign does not accept "comments" or "feedback" regarding active court cases. Any such communication will be ignored and deleted to maintain judicial impartiality.
5. Third-Party Links
This website may contain links to third-party sites (e.g., Anedot for donations, social media platforms). The Campaign is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such external websites.
6. Privacy Policy Integration
Your use of this site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect and use your data. We do not sell or rent donor or supporter lists to third parties for commercial marketing purposes.
7. Limitation of Liability
The Committee to Elect Timothy J. Rooks provides this site on an "as is" basis. While we strive for accuracy, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of the site or the information included.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes arising from the use of this site shall be resolved in the courts of Burke or Caldwell Counties, NC.
9. Changes to Terms
The Campaign reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Your continued use of the site following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
Text Messaging
You agree to receive recurring automated informational text (e.g., SMS and MMS) messages from [Commitee Name], including text messages that may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system, to the mobile telephone number you provided when signing up or any other number that you designate. All the different types of messages you may receive (Informational messages and vote reminders) shall be known collectively as the "Programs." Consent to receive automated informational text messages is not a condition of any purchase.

Msg & Data rates may apply. Please consult with your carrier for rate information.
Message Frequency
Message frequency will vary. [Committee Name] reserves the right to alter the frequency of messages sent at any time, so as to increase or decrease the total number of sent messages. [Committee Name] also reserves the right to change the phone number from which messages are sent.
Not all mobile devices or handsets may be supported and our messages may not be deliverable in all areas. [Committee Name], its service providers and the mobile carriers supported by the program are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Cancellation
If you do not wish to continue participating in any Program or no longer agree to these Terms, you agree to text the applicable Short Code (or regular long code phone number where applicable) or directly reply to any mobile message received from a Program with STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT in order to opt out of that Program at any time. You may receive an additional mobile message confirming your decision to opt out.
You understand and agree that the foregoing options are the only reasonable and exclusive methods of opting out. You also understand and agree that any other method of opting out, including, but not limited to, texting words or phrases other than those set forth above or verbally requesting [Committee Name] to remove you from our list, is not a reasonable means of opting out. You may be subscribed to multiple Programs across different Short Codes or regular long code phone numbers, and therefore you must separately text or reply STOP to each Short Code or long code phone number from which you wish to unsubscribe.
Support
For support regarding the Program, text “HELP” to the applicable Program’s Short Code or long code, or email us at [campaign email (Usally an info@ email)] . Please note that the use of this email address, or texting “HELP” to the Program’s Short or long Code is not an acceptable method of opting out of the program. Opt outs must be submitted in accordance with the procedures set forth above.
Our Disclaimer of Warranty
The Programs are offered on an "as-is" basis and may not be available in all areas at all times and may not continue to work in the event of product, software, coverage or other changes made by your wireless carrier. We will not be liable for any delays or failures in the receipt of any mobile messages connected with any Program. Delivery of mobile messages is subject to effective transmission from your wireless service provider/network operator, and is outside of our control. We are not liable for delayed or undelivered mobile messages.
